Please support our school by buying these products. The money raised goes to fund PE Play Day, Multi-Cultural Fair, Report Card Ribbons, Teacher Appreciation Week, Student Planners, Math Superstars Program, FCAT incentives for students, and many other things. And with all the budget cuts, Chimney Lakes needs the money more then ever!

Welcome Back!

PTA has been at school all pre-planning week. There is a lot of busy  and exciting energy in getting ready for all the children to come back to school. We have been busy stuffing student packets, faculty packets, and sponsoring  "Back to School" breakfasts for all the faculty and staff here at Chimney Lakes. We are excited to meet all of our new kindergarten friends at Kindergarten Open House tomorrow, and everyone else at Open House in a few weeks.

We are looking forward to another great year. Please sign up (at the top of the right side bar) for our free e-newsletters that will be sent monthly. These will be full of great information about upcoming PTA and school events.

Our first PTA event will be the "Kindergarten Boo-Hoo Breakfast" for all of our new kindergarten parents. It will be held in the Teachers Lounge, right next to the cafeteria. It will  run from the time after you drop off your kindergartner until about 9:30  a.m.. Come for a light breakfast and meet some of your fellow kindergarten parents. The PTA Board will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about Chimney Lakes. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Box Top's Winners!

Our Classroom Box Tops Competition winner was Ms. Louer's 2nd Grade Class. They brought in a total of 1,023 Box Tops! Our other top classes were:

Kindergarten: Ms. Finocchiaro and Mrs. Pitts- 414

First Grade: Mrs. D. Taylor- 693

Third Grade: Ms. Bailey and Mrs. Walker- 882

Fourth Grade: Ms. Durant and Ms. Furr- 881

Fifth Grade: Mrs. Stitz - 480

Ms. Louer's class receive a Pizza Party provided by PTA. The other grade level winners will receive a Popsicle party.

The total amount of Box Tops turned in at Chimne:y Lakes Elementary is 14,031. That is $1,403.10 that will go to the school. PTA would like to give a big THANK YOU to all of those who participated. We made as much in these past two months, as we did in all of last year. We could not have done it without you!

Remember to continue to save your Box Tops, because we will have another competition in the spring.

Lost and Found

The PTA room is the site for our school's lost and found. We currently have quite a lot of jackets and lunch boxes. These items are only kept for the nine week grading period, then they are donated to a local charity. If your student is missing something please come to the PTA room (Room 57 right across the from the cafeteria) and see if we have it. All unclaimed items will be donated on Monday November 8th.

Please also remember to label all of your student's personal belongings so that they may be returned when they are given to us.

Fun Friday's

PTA has begun Fun Friday's at the school. Two Friday's a month the administration draws four classes from a random drawing, and those classes receive a popcorn party furnished by the PTA. We want to recognize the hard work that our teachers and students put in each week, and give them a little something fun on Friday's. Each class will be recognized by the time the school year is over. So ask your student if they have been the lucky ones yet?!



Capri Sun and Drink Pouches

PTA is collecting Capri Sun and other drink pouches such as Kool-Aid , Honest Kids, and Minute Maid. We send them to a recycling company, and receive money for them. Not only are we earning money for our school, we are also helping the planet. Since the beginning of school we have recycled 3,000 drink pouches!

We collect them at lunch time, and from class parties and such. So if you would have any you would like to donate, please send them in with your child.

Help us earn some "Green" by being "Green"!
